Sometimes we need extraordinary experiences to shift our perspective and move toward change. Swan is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Global Somatics Practitioner who brings a deeply embodied approach to healing. Before studying psychology, Swan studied somatics—where exploring the wisdom of the body naturally led to non-ordinary states of consciousness without the use of medicine. Today, that foundation shapes their work with clients, especially in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP), where somatic tools can ease the process and deepen its effectiveness.

While they work with the nervous system like many somatically-based therapists, Swan also works below that level—at the cellular, developmental, and energetic layers. Their approach is also transpersonal and strengths-based, shaped by more than 25 years of mindfulness practice.

Swan holds an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Expressive Arts Therapy and a focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. Their training includes programs through Polaris Institute, Intero Psychedelic Therapy, the School for Body-Mind Centering, and Numinus’ Fundamentals of Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy course. Swan is certified in Global Somatics—a master's-level interdisciplinary healing modality rooted in human development, energy work, and an animistic view of the body. They are also a certified yoga instructor and have trained in various forms of bodywork, including CranioSacral work and the Rosen Method.

Swan integrates tools such as EMDR, narrative therapy, brief therapy, Gestalt, and parts work, and brings more than 20 years of experience working with special needs children and adults. Their interest in psychedelic medicine began more than 30 years ago and deepened in 2018 through a study of both its modern research and ancestral roots in indigenous cultures.

As someone who moves through the world intersectionally, Swan specializes in working with LGBTQ+ adults, highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals, and those impacted by cultural trauma. They are an inclusive, down-to-earth therapist who brings a personable and conversational approach to the therapeutic space.

Outside the therapy room, Swan finds joy in movement meditation like dancing, yoga, and swimming, as well as in community gathering, magick, travel, songwriting, writing, and making art. Every winter, they spend a healthy chunk of time in Costa Rica.
