“Open your window and count the stars.” — Nam June Paik

Everyone needs a place to think aloud and reflect on their story. Megan supports clients as they step into new spaces with curiosity and compassion. She enjoys helping clients challenge the status quo and identify steps they need for healing and growth.

As a transracial, transnational adoptee from South Korea, Megan has a vested interest in being a safe space for transracial adoptees to explore racial and adoptee identity. She loves working with transracial, transnational adopted individuals (age 17+) who grew up questioning their racial and ethnic identities and wondered, “Does anyone else feel this way?” She completed the University of Minnesota’s Center for Advanced Studies in Child Welfare’s PACC program and continues to stay involved in the greater adoptee community to offer resources to clients at all stages of their adoption identity formation. Grounded in her belief that mental health care should be accessible to all, Megan is also a vetted therapist for Foster Adopt Minnesota’s HELP Program, which covers out-of-pocket costs for adoptees and their families.

Megan draws from a variety of modalities, chief among them being relational (and relatable). She takes a developmental and holistic approach to healing, including awareness of developmental milestones in our lives and the lingering impact on our relationships and connections to self and others.

She’s especially passionate about supporting individuals in the Asian diaspora, women juggling the demands of life, work, and relationships; teens and college-age (and beyond!), individuals figuring out their next move, and individuals carrying the weight of perfectionism.

Outside of therapy, she likes running, yoga, reading, traveling, and sending memes to friends.
