- Expanding their knowledge and practice of mindfulness and meditation
- Exploring their own ideas about self-compassion and compassion for others
- Connecting with others through shared experiences of mindfulness/meditation and group discussion
- Is willing to share with others and hear about others' experiences in meditation
- Able to attend weekly group meetings
