Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) bridges body, mind and spirit at CCA. You’ll provide individualized, holistic, and mutually agreed upon comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and health-promotion services with an emphasis on:

  • Whole-person care – integrating physical, spiritual and behavioral health in every visit.
  • Collaborative psychiatry & therapy – partnering with our psychotherapists to address mood, trauma, ADHD, substance use, grief, betrayal and other concerns.
  • Equitable, kind, culturally humble practice – ensuring every patient, feels safe, heard, and empowered.

Assessment & Diagnosis

Conduct mental health assessments, and psychosocial histories; order/interpret labs, medication management, and assessment for ketamine assisted psychotherapy services.

Plan of Care

Create evidence-based, individualized plans that may include medication management, therapeutic interventions, lifestyle counseling, and referral to in-house therapists or community partners.

Behavioral-Health Integration

Screen for mental health diagnoses and initiate or adjust medications in partnership with psychotherapy; participate in weekly case-consultation rounds with psychotherapists therapists, offer holistic, integrative options for treatment 

Documentation & Coding

Maintain thorough, timely notes in our EHR (Charm); code to DSM-5-TR ICD-10/CPT standards; contribute to quality-improvement (QI) dashboards.

Education & Advocacy

Mentor NP students and stay connected to affiliated universities

Continuous Learning

Stay current on guidelines in mental health, and emerging therapies. Maintain compliance with licensure and continuing education.

Qualifications

  • Graduate Education: MSN or DNP from an accredited program.
  • Licensure & Certification: Unrestricted Minnesota APRN license; national board certification (FNP with strong psychiatry experience or PMHNP).
  • Clinical Experience: Preferred but not required based on interview and work history.  Experience in mental health care is preferred. 
  • Behavioral-Health Proficiency: Comfortable initiating mental health medications and supportive therapies. 
  • Tech & Documentation: Fluency with EHRs, telehealth platforms, and ICD-10 coding and billing.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional empathy, clear written/verbal communication, and a collaborative mindset. 

Nice to Have

  • Experience in LGBTQIA-affirming or gender-affirming care.
  • Spanish, Hmong, Somali, ASL, or other language proficiency.
  • Trauma informed care
  • Mental Health background
